  • Re: beosystem 5500

Calvin: It seems a silly way to "say" it though. 'Timer Mute' would give a better description of the function Yes. I would even prefer the indicator to be a bit more minimalistic, I don't like seeing it all the time.

  • Re: BM8000 or stay with BM6000

I've got two 8000s and one 6000. I prefer the 8000s, but the 6000 is not bad at all - it sounds real nice, and I like the looks of it even though it doesn't really have the same build quality as the 8000. You need both! :-) So the white speakers were custom orders? They seem to have been popular in Sweden though, when it comes to the last uniphase range

  • Re: Courier Experiment...

If it was an MX2000 instead, then the little plastic thing in front of the IR sensor would have been the first part to fall off :)

  • Re: Beomaster 4000 plus Cd player query

Alex: I wasn't aware of that! Unfortunately, carrying an iPod Dock with you on the bus isn't the most discreet solution I *think* (but I'm NOT sure!) that this also applies to the Apple iPod Radio Remote. Speaking of the remote, i really really wish they'd make an iPhone compatible version of it.

Alex: RE: iPod volume, it depends on the model and where you bought it. Some of the iPods (the latest ones) are certainly quieter than line level at full volume, whereas the previous generation of iPods were much higher than line level at full volume... Tip: the output of the Apple Universal Dock is not affected by the EU volume cap, so i you connect

  • Re: Passive Penta speakers

Jandyt: Dave: I just wish they weren't so ugly, i can't have these speakers in my house as they would impose something chronic and stick out like a fluorescent sheep. How can you say that, Dave? They are GORGEOUS!!!! Back in the 80s and early 90s I used to think the Pentas were gorgeous, but nowadays I find their looks very dated - much more

  • Re: Beogram 6002

Derek, Great tip! How do I adjust the tension? i really want to do this on my BG8002, the dustcover is badly warped now and it's only a question of time before the mechanism breaks - it did on my bg8000 a couple of weeks ago :-(

I agree with Mr10Percent. To paraphrase Apple: "Beolab 5 - the high-end loudspeaker for the rest of us"

  • Re: Photos of older B&O equipment at Danish Electrical museeum

ChrDH: francoisvl: Thanks for the photo's. Finally got to see what a V2000 cassette tape looks likes! Thanks. Actually, i think they displayed the wrong cassette with that recorder. My parents had a Lowe V2000 recorder, and the cassettes for that one was more ractangular. br Chr You're right, that's a "VCR" cassette - the v2000 cassette looks like
