A real B&O dealer - I hope Struer see this - this is the type of good feeling about a brand that thousands of pounds of advertising cannot buy. I realise that the cost of parts will be minimal, but the time taken and thought involved is what counts. We did think of have a BeoWorld Approved scheme for dealers but decided that it might not go down

It has always been a bit like this though. An Avant DVD was over £5000 when new when you could buy another make for only a few hundred pounds. The quality of the picture and sound however was such that it was relatively easy to justify. I think the flat screens have narrowed the picture quality difference, though B&O do still offer an advantage

I don't think any 'nastiness' was intended in this thread at all. Just an ironic sense of humour. As Ed says, it is fifficult to take too much notice of a little clouding on a screen when 10 foot of water is raging through one's living room. In other words, there are worse things that happen: cricket could be another one! On the screen

The card I have is rubbish! Your dealer should be able to give you a bigger one but essentially GO and whatever you want will do most things. Go + Red records and GO + << or >> fast forwards and reverses. Sky + integrates with my Avant brilliantly and also works in the link rooms fantastically. I am sure you will find it a very good addition

Glad someone else finds taking these apart a complete pain! Compared to the 4000, the 8000 is just wilfully difficult! Having to un-mount the suspension is simply daft.

The BG1000V should be fine - the VF has the built in RIAA.

You only need one extra pin - I can never remember which one!

Very complex piece of kit, the 8000! I would suspect it need a capacitor kit from Dillen and probably a new tacho disc.

Mine does the same - and also to other electronic equipment - including my Littman stethoscope!
