The triangular part moves freely up and down the spindle, and the spring mechanism is fine. When I load a tape, nothing happens to it (tape does not push the triangular part down or something), I suppose this is normal? Without a tape, one reel rotates (the right one when looking from above). The motion sensor wheel is connected to this wheel, O-shaped, not like an 8. With a tape loaded, it will not start. It pulls the tape tight, but won't start running. When I move the tape by hand by rotating the motion sensor wheel it stays in 'play' mode, until I stop

Hi there, Long time back but I finally got round to changing the two black caps and R8: nothing helped. What should I do next? Deck won't even play now, it tries to play, then clicks back to 'stop'.

Do check the solenoid (see http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/24078.aspx), it was cause of all the trouble in my 3000, and the symptoms seem to overlap! Good luck.

Has the beogram stood still for a long time? Probably dried up grease, clean the rails it should move along with some (what's that called in english, well, something without water that dissolves grease, you can also use it when painting to clean your brush). Then relube with silicone spray or something. Check the belt on the tracking motor too,
