This is just out of my hat, but wouldn't be surprised if it was possible to mod a BS4 in order to tap the s/pdif signal before it reaches the op/amp. Would invalidate the warranty, of course. I'm sure the people who post in the Workshop would know.

Well, don't get the impression that I'm against the 4000/4002/6000 decks. I'm listening to this now. Keep an eye open and you'll find one. It took me about six months of trolling internet listings before I came across a Beogram 4000 in mint condition.

The Stig - ver. 1.17: If you do it this way the screen is turned of when you use the Ipod Exactly, that's what I was told - while the screen remains on when you use the Camcord connector. Nicer with the screen off - and the vertical BL 7 produces a wonderful sound.
