  • Re: Advice on buying a used music system.

Why not take a look a Lifestyle-AV's rather attractive new website to get an idea of the range and relative prices of the various sytems already mentioned.

  • Re: Beocontrol 5

Alex: MOTS resides on the BeoMaster 5, as does all of the 'processing' etc... As for making it wireless, I don't see how this could work when DVI (the cable used) requires a bandwidth of 3.96 Gbit/second, and wireless technology still struggles to get up to 0.0054 GBit/second even at close range. DVI/HDMI transmitters are all large, incredibly

  • Re: Beocontrol 5

Alex: The number of sites I have seen stating the BeoSound 5 is 'quite ridiculous' a remote control is plain embarrassing. I think these kind of sites in general tend to be highly inaccurate about pretty much everything and anything however. I'm sorry Alex but what is the BS5 if not a "modern" day MCP that is tethered by cables

  • Re: Congratulations Keith!

Of course I could have done it too (if only Keith had shown me what to press to make it do whatever he did ) Keith is a hidden treasure - not only is he Mr. Beoworld Techie but (you probably know already) he's even had his head (and camera) deep inside the mythical BM5. The site's only true Superhero (although jandyt tries his best )

  • Re: Beosound 5 Hands On Experience?

Micronas MAS3530 Analog Devices AD1852 Not sure I'd look for much cost here, at a glance I can't find any cost info for the Micronas part but the A/D is ~$5. Both are established components. A quick skim through the MAS3530 pages suggest there is no support for Dolby True Audio or DTS-HD Master Audio although that's irrelevant if it has

  • Re: Beosound 5 Hands On Experience?

There has been much said about the BS5/BM5 combination, indeed I have said much However I never doubted the system would have top quality converters, indeed it had been eluded to many times. I can't even begin to imagine the fallout if it turned out they relied on a motherboards onboard audio chip! I have to say, even I don't think B&O can

Kate Bush " Moments of Pleasure ". Fantastic lyrics, even better string arrangement. One of her very best.

  • Re: Only 4 playlists!!!!

Numbered and lettered playlists! - what's going on. You'd have thought in these days of electricity and running water you'd have been able to give playlists a meaningful name!
