I like to use the black one from Casco. It remains flexible for years and does not pull into endless strings when brushed on. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! I wouldn't blame the belt as the first thing, I think I would concentrate on the motor and speed setting mech., cleaning and lubricating. Will it run faster as it warms up a bit (10-20 minutes) ? Have you losened the (three) transport safety screws ? Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! The best thing would be to replace the dustcaps using real speaker cement but less will do. Could be that it just needs a firm push on the reset knob. It's quite normal to see that the counter locks in some way if not reset correctly, sometimes also with a ticking sound as the reels rotate. Alternatively, check the counter belt. Easily done by simply pulling off the aluminum cover. I can supply new belts if you need but check the counter

You cannot tell if a transistor is OK by just looking at it. I would replace the whole lot. Even if they still measure fine, there's a good chance that one or more will suffer from internal scars that will show up as a drastic failure sooner or later. Watch out for counterfeit transistors. (No joke!). Martin

The lamp lights up when the lid is opened if I remember correctly. Anyway, the motor will spin nicely even with no platter and subplatter and you should be able to operate the search buttons. Martin

The original posters are quite rare but later repro prints are generally available, also as metal sheets. There are almost constantly some for sale at Ebay and other places. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! If it's the cassettedeck version (not the open reel version), I can supply new belts. You have a PM (check your inbox at the extreme top right corner of this page). Martin
