One thing to keep in mind with the 2200 (and I guess the 500 as well, I never heard them) is that the cone treble is immensely directional. Have you gotten a second opinion on the colour? These bicolour LEDs can sometimes be a little hard to work out if you have a slight form of colour blindness you might not even know about. I know I have problems with them!

I flipped through a number of user manuals on site, and comparing the manuals of LX6000 (BL1000 version) and MX6000 (Beo4 version) seems that those menu options would be missing from the BL1000 versions of the TV sets. On those, sound settings are called up with SOUND, and picture commands of course with PICTURE. Whether those are on the main LIST level

I have a MX6000-Beo4-IT with software 3.1, and the sound (and picture) selections are on the main menu level between program list and setup. Works perfectly fine with either Beo4 or Beolink 1000. Must be some version 2.x related trick...
