  • Re: vintage speaker selection

There's not much you can do about it except placement - this affects all speakers with cone tweeters, and was exactly what the Beovox 2500 cubes were designed to compensate when paired with the bigger speakers of the time. It's not that bad in practice though, just something to be aware of before getting them. If you can keep some distance to

  • Re: Beolab 11 launched.

No - this is just a financial press release, not a product launch. You'll see the pictures during/after the official launch, when a couple of dozen members start pasting them all over the forums (or after the Q3 financial report, which happens three hours earlier)

One thing to keep in mind with the 2200 (and I guess the 500 as well, I never heard them) is that the cone treble is immensely directional. In this respect, I think my 2200's are the most directional speakers I've heard! If you can't aim them directly at your head in the regular listening position, they may be a disappointment. Other than

  • Re: New Manuals

I have at least a couple which are missing from the site: MX2000 service manual (which is quite lengthy and the folded circuit diagrams would be a horror with my sorry A4 scanner) Beogram 6000 service manual (the later model from 1981, type 1751 - leider auf Deutsch ) If there is any interest in either of these I'll see what I can do.

  • Re: BeoLab 2000 Amber light?

Have you gotten a second opinion on the colour? These bicolour LEDs can sometimes be a little hard to work out if you have a slight form of colour blindness you might not even know about. I know I have problems with them!

  • Re: Beomaster 1000 - missing FM stereo decoder?

[quote user="Dillen"] The two phono inputs are of different levels. One is at line level (with no RIAA) while the other is at "true" phono level with built-in RIAA. I haven't seen the actual module but my guess is that the option installed is a second RIAA for the line-level input, providing the BM1000 with two phono-level inputs

  • Re: Beomaster 1000 - missing FM stereo decoder?

Unfortunately I've never seen a single MPX decoder on sale, at least not on fleaBay. You might get one from a fellow Beoworlder, but I suppose a more likely source is a donor unit. I believe the decoder from a BM900 would electrically be a drop-in, but the bracketry might need work? I'm sure it would be possible to get the Kemo kit to do the

  • Re: MX6000 with Beo4; Cannot adjust BASS, TREBLE and LOUDNESS

I flipped through a number of user manuals on site, and comparing the manuals of LX6000 (BL1000 version) and MX6000 (Beo4 version) seems that those menu options would be missing from the BL1000 versions of the TV sets. On those, sound settings are called up with SOUND, and picture commands of course with PICTURE. Whether those are on the main LIST level

  • Re: MX6000 with Beo4; Cannot adjust BASS, TREBLE and LOUDNESS

I have a MX6000-Beo4-IT with software 3.1, and the sound (and picture) selections are on the main menu level between program list and setup. Works perfectly fine with either Beo4 or Beolink 1000. Must be some version 2.x related trick...
