Is the volume turned up on the main volume, 'wave' volume and iTunes volume controls? Make sure as well that you're connected to the IN connections on the AUX input, not the OUT connections. The socket carries sound in AND out of the unit, and if you connect to the output instead of the input, you'll end up with really quiet, flat weak sound.

Mybad! Yes if it's BeoCenter 9000 vs. BeoSystem 4500, I'd keep the 4500. Somehow more impressive than the 9000!

Depends what speakers you have. The 9000 has no amplifiers, so unless you have a pair of BeoLab speakers, it will be next to useless without another external amp (a route you want to avoid!).

Velodyne make fantastic subs, REL also deserve a mention. Linn have a fantastic model out as well...

Beautiful design though, and the cabinet quality is stunning! Not too sure about the innards at the moment, but I don't have much experience with the DVD2. Didn't seem too user friendly when I first had a play, but I probably just need to play with it more! Overall though, beautifully finished, and absolutely looks the part.

I'm sorry but I just don't agree. The BeoSound 4 is much more 'B&O' to me than the BeoSound 3200. I don't see what you're saying about 'errors', to me it's pretty much flawless, although the timer function could be improved with an option to time recordings from the radio, plus an option to speed up recording from CD to SD card.
