DAB No, it doesn't. Personally I don't miss that - but with it, it would have been a perfect unit.

It appears the first man, Mr. Steve Huff, has a good pair of ears. I consider the BeoSound 1 to be great value, with strong flexibility.
-
Peter: It is fine for what it offers - but cannot be regarded as great stereo due to the closeness of the speakers, has no LW and one cannot alter the treble and bass. I tested one a while ago and chose a Century instead which offered in my view slightly more facilities and better sound. I think that if I had to choose between a BeoSound 1 and a Century

Bose units produce their sound through an aural perception trick, through manipulating the reproduction of the sound. It is very effective, and clearly also quite convincing, judging by the success of the company. I could be suspected of not being objective, as this is a B&O enthusiasts site, but BeoSound 1 is one of their finest products, and in

kawo: HI, I just took al look at my cables which came with the lab 5. There is no mark on it and they are roughly 2 to 3 times thicker than the PL MK3 cables for my lab3. Hi kawo, I wouldn't say the difference in gauges is 2-3 times thicker, but there is a difference. I also always get them confused, the MKII and MKIII !!!

Puncher: Pardon me for confusing things even further but the FAQ section of the site specifically says that Lab5's should use MKII Powerlink cables! I don't think you're confusing things at all. My BL5s work nicely with MKII. I don't know whether I'd call them "much thicker" though ... If Jackplug tries a non-Powerlink

Hi Jackplug, Mk3 PL looks very much like Mk2 - holding them you'd feel that Mk2 had just a touch larger diameter to the cable, but it's not a big difference - at least to my eyes. On the plastic casing of the Mk 3 plug, there's a small "embossed" triangle , which points towards the plug end, and which is faced upwards for correct

Andy's sentiments are seconded here! Well done. You have four Hi-Fi sculptures in your possession, they are truly beautiful. My Beogram 4000 brings a smile on my face whenever I see it.

The Stig - ver. 1.23: haven't looked in to it, but think thy only use the Ir eye in the speaker when in digital mode??? The digital connection is not mend as a B&O connection, only for kingkonokonoko (or somthing like that) I think. The DIGITAL IN is far from "kikinoko". It is there to accept digital signals from BS9000 and BC2. The

Try to ensure that there is nothing else connected to the circuit that the BL5s are drawing electricity from. No refrigerators, AC-units or anything else that could be kicking off-and-on. Just a dedicated circuit feeding just them. I'm not saying that a CRT television should affect them - just that it affected a headphone I have, which is very sensitive
