If the device has changed then wouldn't the type number change as well?

Just to share the rant with you John, I was out at the apple store today to get a new usb cable and wall adapter $30! It might not seem to be as bad as the Beosound 2's battery but still! Rip off! I ended up paying for it though, had to, old one broke.

Well I went to the apple store, turns out it was a faulty usb cable.

Can anyone help? My computer just recently started to not recognize my ipod (1st gen video, 60g). All it does is charge the ipod. I have windows xp and itunes 8.2 i believe. Thanks all.
