• Re: Beosystem 7000

Just a quick note... Jason and I have hooked up and done some exchanging. It is nice to have someone in my relative vicinity for a change. He seems like a real nice fellow. At any rate, the BL7000 that was acting up is on my bench. As of now, and I found this very interesting... the BL is utterly dead, but lights up in vicinity of a 2-way system. Remarkably

  • Re: What is your favorite vintage B&O product?
My favorite vintage B&O product is the one i use on a daily basis... a Beomaster 4000 and s45s-2 speakers being driven by a DAC / Airport / iTunes combination.
Fantastic setup! I actually like the 4000 better than the 4400! Such a classic... and the S45-2... no better speaker for the $ -period!

  • Re: Looking for a pristine, vintage B&O system - Which one to get?
Oh as to cars, if this gives any clues to the ideal system: It is all about Porsche and crazy Italian coachbuilt cars: Currently I drive a 69 911S, 56 356A, a 72 Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato and a 62 Lancia Flaminia Zagato.
OK... so you like teutonic engineering with a little pizzaz! Hmmm... Something older, something
My favvorite(s) are my vintage ribbon-mic's BM5 BM5 BM6
A refreshingly different reponse! Thank you for sharing your experience/use of them! What is the definition of vintage? >10 years >25 years??? Hmmm... BL5000, of course! Although, Dillen's rework of the '39 had me drooling!

  • Re: BV 10 and which loudspeekers???
Are these BL 6000?
They certainly look like wall-mounted 6000's... In fact, about halfway down the page of the link you provided (look for the blue fretted BV10 + blue fretted, wall-mounted 6000's). Personally, I'd like to see a pair of BL3000/4500/5000 next to a BV10...

  • Re: Are there big differences in the Beosound/Beocenter family, in sound? Easy to choose between Beolab 8000, Beolab 6000 & Beolab 3
I own Beolab 8000 that I love, a friend of mine has Beolab 6000, and in his setting/room they sound great! I was really surprised as they do not have such a great reputation.
AGREED! The poor little brother of the 8000 takes so many hits here! I have said before and I'll say it again... In the right room

  • Re: What Beovision to chose ?

I agree with Peter. In our modern world of instant obsolescence... think of it as getting something for pennies on the dollar/pound. I missed an opportunity for a SD BV5 and I kick myself daily!

  • Re: Making my media server visable to other PCs
My next question is this - if I connect a non-network enabled printer to the server by standard USB and share this printer, should I be able to print from this remotely from the computer in my room or do I need to have a printer plugged by ethernet into the router directly.
Should not be an issue, but you may
I wish Piaf did a sound comparison.
Looks like [mfirst] has started a thread w/ just that! Looking forward to more input! He is apparently from the states as well... Carolinas here. I have a BM8000... guess I may just have to get a McI... and try it myself!
