The RL140's are a fine speaker and the 6500 amplifier will have just about enough grunt to handle them. Your problem may be finding a pair in good condition. The cloth fronts are not very user friendly (fragile!) and they suffer from foam rot. Unless you are a boom, boom merchant then you should resist the Beolab 2 for music listening. Edit Oh Dear

You missed a step Keith! Having pressed MENU you need to select SETUP and then 0,0,GO Do you not have to adjust the TV Tuner system as well? (From 16 to 3)

A far as I am aware you can run TM with speakers connected other wise you must reset option to 1 every time you switch off and on again. It's a pain in the ***!

It defaults to option 0 when you switch on with no speakers!

Sounds like your cd mech is not finding focus. The first thing to try is to clean the laser lens in the cd player. Use a cotton bud damped in isopropanol or a clean handkerchief if these are not available.

I have looked at the service manual and suspect that you are correct - looks like the same transformer just jumpered to adjust for mains voltage. I suggest that you send a PM to Dillen and ask him to confirm.

There is no switch, you will definitely need a transformer.

I'm afraid the stylus is non replaceable, you must replace the whole cartridge. More bad news, the only place to buy them is www.sound-smith.com and they are around $150 plus carriage! You could try eBay for a s/h one but this is not recommended as it is impossible to judge the condition.

Now you know why most B&O engineers carry a Beolink 1000 and I have one on my workbench!!
