Then again, we should extend him the common courtesy of letting him express his opinion without flaming him! If you read the forum then it has a lot of folk expressing dissatisfaction or looking for help with issues, however that is what forums tend to be in general - the vast majority of happy, casual B&O users will never post here - it's the

koning: Peter : To be completely fair, I imagine the sound is just as good as the Beocenter 2 and BS9000 especially if the files are stored as lossless or very high bit rate if compressed. You cannot really make it better as the sound is coming from the original CD and if using the digital out of the BC2 and BS9000 with Beolab 5s, there is nothing you

You can download one of three sample tracks in 24bit 88.2KHz "Studio Master" WMA or FLAC format free from Linn.co.uk . (I chose "When I Dream" by Carol Kidd)

Alex: A 15m HDMI cable will do. HDMI signals don't degrade in quality - you just get to a certain length (50m I believe) and the image disappears completely. Don't get a super-duper high quality HDMI cable, just one which is well made and will last. I'm not sure this is true. With short cables, the "Anything will do" is probable

I understand both sides of the debate and some parts of both have merit (to me at least). I've said before that I love the speakers and agree that some are class leaders. Some of the audio source offerings are now starting to look at little stale and, for me, the BS5/BM5 doesn't go far enough to guarantee the companies reputation in this area

TripEnglish: Beauty, integration, sound quality (it did have a BeoLab 7 now didn't it) to name a few. It can still integrate with a BeoSound, still work in a link room, still blow the doors off its contemporaries in just about every way. Still rotates and tilts on its stand by remote. What does a 3 year old Sony do but encourage me to replace it

TripEnglish: ...................Whether or not someone would buy an older screen, we see tremendous evidence that many people would. I would find that desperately "aspirational" and deluded - but then thats just me! Why would anyone buy a BV7 MKI now?? - There's enough mentions on this site to tell you that the picture is cr4p compare

Peter : I would attach the Sonos directly via digital to the BL5s. No point repeatedly switching between analogue and digital so an external DAC would seem superfluous. Nice avatar by the way. I had one of those for a while but actually prefer my old Littman with plain tubes! Getting deafer though so may try one again! That's MC120's for you

Lossless is what it says on the tin - no loss in quality!
