Is Stephen Hawking in da house? Yes that's exactly the figures I got too......... cough........ cough...... Chris.

It may have just been the contacts at the base of your handset or charger which need a clean Ola. I use the eraser at the end of a pencil sharpened to clean mine, works a treat. Chris.

RL 45.2's were my first ever Beovox speakers and I too thought they were excellent until I got the 60.2's which are really another notch up from them. You'll love 'em to bits if you like the 45's. As with all speakers though, it is very subjective as Peter has pointed out. Chris.

Great story Beocool and thanks for sharing your experience with us. You really were a determined soul weren't you? Chris.

I've never heard the RL6000's but I have owned RL45.2's & 60.2's. I believe the 60.2's were the forerunner to the 6000's. The 60.2's were a far better speaker of the 2, much more rounded in all areas especially the bass wher the 45.2's were a bit light for me, same dimensions except the cabinet bodies which were deeper

gorissek: They've even changed the UK plug to the Euro one without me asking for it. Wonderful! Thanks Lee. It's always the small touches that leave a big impression isn't it? Chris.

You'll be fine mate. It's pretty straightforward once you make a start. Chris.

Craig, if you view page 3-2 "adjustment of magnet coil" diagram in the service manual you can see the see saw (possibly pantograph??) arrangement of this assembly. It is the pivot points which can become stiff. It's a while since I did this on a BG4000 (same system) and I think I had to disconnect the solenoid first - not sure though.
-
It could well be the linkage between the solenoid & the tonearm Craig. You should be able to move it quite freely by hand. There are several pivot points which cease up over time. Just take it apart, clean the old lube off & reassemble with a touch of silicon grease. Not difficult to do & the linkage is fairly easily accessable. Chris.

Me neither! never heard of or seen the insert. I wouldn't worry personally as they seem to travel fine without it. Chris.
