I can confirm that to update the STB controller table all you need to do is change one chip which is shown in the picture below. You need a plastic tool to remove the chip and an anti-static wrist band before starting any work. You will also need a splind screw driver to remove the board. Sorry, there is only software updates for the Beosound 9000 and the Beosound 3000 to allow them to support N.Music. The Ouverture does not have a software update to provide the N.Music functionality.

Like many products these days, the Beocom 6000 does indeed work using the 2.4 Ghz frequency band, and sometimes there can be problems, but in my experience they are few and far between.
