    Keith Saunders: It sounds like an earth loop problem through the Cable STB. Is your cable STB connected to the cable system via a Galvanic Isolator ? I will answer your next question before you ask it.. What is a Galvanic Isolator ? A Galvanic Isolator allows the cable signal to the STB without the associated ground link to avoid ground loops or other

    Graham the odd coloured buttons must of been a feature of ITT TV's as I remember the one on the remote of my Grandparents been the same. Also the remote used to slot into the TV for safe keeping, something I have not seen on any other TV's. Craig

    Even if the STB is in stand by it still causes interference. Don't think it is too many items as I only have the STB and DVD caonnected and there are two Scart sockets. Craig

    Recently I have been having some problems with my MX5500. When I try to watch a DVD I get a interference on the picture. At first I assumed it was the DVD player, I was wrong. So then I tried anothe Scart lead, still the same. Although by accident I pulled the Scart lead out from the STB, the picture was then perfect. It then occured to me that the

    Even if the polarity is reversed it should not cause the problems you are having. As far as I know all it causes a reduction in sound quality. Craig
