Keith Saunders: It sounds like an earth loop problem through the Cable STB. Is your cable STB connected to the cable system via a Galvanic Isolator ? Graham the odd coloured buttons must of been a feature of ITT TV's as I remember the one on the remote of my Grandparents been the same. Also the remote used to slot into the TV for safe keeping, something I have not seen on any other TV's. Craig

Even if the STB is in stand by it still causes interference. Don't think it is too many items as I only have the STB and DVD caonnected and there are two Scart sockets. Craig

Recently I have been having some problems with my MX5500. When I try to watch a DVD I get a interference on the picture. At first I assumed it was the DVD player, I was wrong. Even if the polarity is reversed it should not cause the problems you are having. As far as I know all it causes a reduction in sound quality. Craig
