  • Re: I wonder if they sound as good as BL5

Puncher: Just goes to show, yet again, that having fist fulls of money is no guarantee of having good taste! Yes, must confess I never liked these, from the first photos I saw from the launch. And I haven't read any reviews of the sound they produce - though KEF is a well renowned loudspeaker company, so that should be satisfactory.

They were launched at the latest Venice Biennale. Limited run of production, already almost filled with orders. Reckon on USD 140.000 for a pair. Plus the rather formidable amplifier monoblocks required to run them well. Haven't heard them. You'll need a large room, as the surface reflections first come to life with distance to the walls, in

  • Re: First pictures Serenata

Well, Gizmodo (and the Russian retailer) clearly are guessing along. Looking forward to making my first dial with the Serenata (though I would have liked it to be named something else, or is that just me?) serenata |ˌserəˈnätə| noun Music a cantata with a pastoral subject. • a simple form of suite for orchestra or wind band. • Re: Why can't B&O for once be honest?

If I could get a BS4 that also played DVDs and had surround out, I would connect it to a BV8-32 and a mess of speakers.

355f: Whlist i feel the bv7 mk 1 and 11 look very nice the fact is that the picture perfomance is lagging so far behind that this is now only an immpressive tv if you dont turn it on! Interestingly, the first ads from B&O for BV7 said that: "You spend hours watching television, then you turn it on." Maybe their subconscious was nudging

  • Re: Why can't B&O for once be honest?

I think the last poster has many valid and important points. I will, though, point out that my choices in car, boat and place to live are not informed by how "inexpensively" I can do any of these. The computers I use, the phones I call people up with, the cutlery in the kitchen and the art on the wall all carry a price premium that I associate

  • Re: SERVICE and Quality issue - with B&O...

The definition of luxury is: no problems. When a luxury purveyor exposes a client to a problem, it is immediately fixed, to the client's satisfaction, no questions asked. If you wish to be seen as a luxury brand, it is your duty to ensure that this agreement between provider and customer is adhered to. A 2 or 3 star hotel doesn't give you this

Bingo: With honest I ment: Last year the turn-over has fallen down in Holland and they had a reason for it. This year again the turn-over has fallen down again in Holland and now they have another reason. To me it sounds like avoiding to mention what is really the matter. And yes although it is a strong word to use, to me that is the same as ..... That

Puncher: I'm with Peter here and I believe theres a thread of truth for the future in Bingo's post. As the world heads for better and better quality flat panels at a frightening pace how much can B&O offer in the vision quality stakes? Their obvious unique selling point is still their "linkability" with the rest of their product

  • Re: Why can't B&O for once be honest?

I think your post is quite OTT. You make it seem as if Struer lies as a general rule - how else can one interpret "for once be honest?" Apart from that, I also think your post is uninformed. Today's businesses have a very close eye on their turnover, with just-in-time manufacturing and with very precise prediction algorithms that calculate
