Silly me, it even shows in Leslie's picture (and one of the service manuals on site.) No way getting round it then, you'll need a 220u cap. The later crossovers are so different that the upgrade wouldn't be just the swap of a couple of component values.

I'm sure you could hear the change, but the difference maybe won't be dramatic (it was on my RL60.2's...). Easy to do sometime later anyway once you get the more serious problems sorted. Where did you find a 220 uF bipolar? There shouldn't be any, the biggest caps on the crossovers are 68 uF. I wouldn't go below a 100V rating, there

I think there is no button... the input is shared with the P1 radio preset and you'll need to unplug the aux cable when you're not using it!

Yes it's a standard 5 pin DIN connection. I recommend getting a ready made 5pin DIN - 4xRCA adapter, then you can just experiment which two RCAs are the correct ones. If you get a 2xRCA adapter, there's a 50% chance of getting the wrong one!

Seems to fit all requirements. If you share it with other devices, it will need some discipline to not plug it in when adjusted to wrong voltage or polarity, though!

Do you have a particular power supply in mind already? If it is stabilized/regulated, it should work just fine as you are right in your last sentence. An unstabilized, too "heavy" power supply might be a problem as they will output a higher voltage with a smaller load. If you want to be sure, you can measure the output of the power supply
