Buy an Smmc4 from www.sound-smith.com Your B&O dealer can supply the same cartridge but will be much more expensive.

You will still need ac power! There is probably nothing wrong. Your un terminated cable is acting as an aerial and picking up mains hum. I assume that you will be connecting to a pre amp output rather than the speaker outlets from an amplifier!! The line sockets expect a 1volt p/p volume controlled input.

You should be able to see the laser on a piece of white paper if you switch the room lights down. Have you checked the laser pre sets? Someone may have changed them.

Not many people understand the difference between these two. The 4000/4002 and 6000/7000 are based on the old MX/LX chassis which has been around for years with minor modification and updates (active speakers in the 7000 being one). The 4200 and 8000 are based on the same chassis as BV1 which is much more modern with STB controller and masterlink options

Press N MUSIC or SHIFT A TAPE on your remote. If N MUSIC comes up on the BS3000 display then you have the software.

There are no switches in the beogram but the same transformer is used in both versions. The circuit diagram indicates that you can change the tappings on the transformer and replace the 500mV fuse with a 700mV. Any competent electronics engineer should be able to do this conversion for you.

I would advise a PM to nobby (Neil) on this forum. He is in Farnham, Surrey and is our MX expert!

The ST9500 glass topped stand was designed for the 9500 but was also available with the 9300. Sometimes seen on eBay but often not in very good condition.
-
Both the cd carriage and the glass are adjustable. However, I suggest the best way to tackle this is to upgrade your BeoWorld membership to silver or gold and download the service manual. Here you will find full details of all the adjustments and test procedures with diagrams.

Hi Graham, Your cheapest option is a Masterlink cable (I can supply this!) and use the Avant or BV1. Takes up less space too!!!
