Welcome! I would probably try and find an MCP5000. Not too sure about the 5500, no personal experience.

Well if a beolab 4 is already available to you, why don't you give it a try? Wouldn't hurt to experiment a little. If it is a temporary solution, it should work just fine.

From what I have seen I'm pretty sure that is a converted platter, not an original beotime.
