  • Re: Beomaster 8000 static at 3.0 volume

Hi, I'm also a great fan of the BS8000/6000 range, and owner of a BM6000...always loved the long angled console design, the red led displays, and the timber (specifically rosewood) trims. They always look totally modern and top of the line equipment. Now just a few thoughts from a complete novice here, could the static be some sort of feedback from

  • Re: Sound Before Design

Hi, Right you are... modernism has been with us for around 80 years. And you know what, some of those earliest iconic pieces are in use more today than they ever were in the period they were created. Just look to pieces by the likes of Mies, Eileen, Bruer and Corbusier. That is the beauty of modernist design, it's timeless appeal, and why I think

Not all bad I agree, I hope thats not what you all thought from my earlier post. The beovision ranges I feel are very well thought out aesthetically and have refined and elegant profiles. And as I noted I think that the BL5 / BL9 are very well designed, a perfect example of form following function indeed, not to mention sound quality being the ultimate

  • Re: Sound Before Design

Totally agree with all your comments regarding design…. With the risk of putting myself out on a limb, for me there havenot been any good designs in the audio range (except speakers BL5/BL9) since the BS2500 w BL6000 / BS9000 w BL8000 were launched. B&O was the market leader both in terms of design and technology during the 60’s, 70’s

  • Re: Beo 5 or Logitech Harmony?

Hi All, I have two of these remotes and really like them. I had no trouble locating B&O BS3000 on the website, it even had BM6000, altho the remotes I have can't control the high freq IR of this model, but thats OK cause I also kinda like the retro remote for it, and at least I got rid of the other 5 ugly remotes! What is good about them for

  • Re: Logitech Harmony One Volume Control Issue

Hi There, I have the same logitech remote and don't recall having that issue, although to be honest I don't use it often for the BS3000. If I recall correctly in the trouble shooting section on the website that they refer to this 'jumping / skipping' issue and you can 'fine tune' the remote to overcome it. However I'm not

Hey Martin, Thanks for the very detailed feedback. Its obviously quite complex and seems there are no hard and fast rules to follow due to the variables you have outlined. But I'm sure that there are many others, who, like me will appreciate your detailed description to come someway towards understanding how volume works. I think I will however

  • Re: Foam rot...

Hi Chris, Unfortunately, they are not what is considered the 'better' 3 way S45-2 of the late 70s, they are the revised 2 way uniphase range from 1983 onwards... just checked online for the type no. its 6427. So I believe they definitely have the foam woofer on them.... Just thought you'd all like to hear of one set of this generation that

  • Re: Speaker Overload Level S80.2

Hi Martin, Thanks for your quick reply. Based on your points... my guess is that the input signal created this 'high point' as I have read that CD frequencies are higher than either record / tapes which would have been the normal input of this era of equipment. Is this true? But I must say at the time there was absolutely no audible distortion

  • Speaker Overload Level S80.2

Hi All, Quick question. Just this week I was testing my speakers because an annoying vibration had started between the facia and the cabinet, where one of the screws had not been tightened sufficiently after they were recapped. After tightening the screw, I pushed the the volume up a bit higher to make sure I had gotten rid of the problem, and to my
