Hi Alex Thanks for your voltage measurements, they have cleared a few things up. Firstly, you have 40v on the collector of 0TR4 and both terminals of the solenoid so you don’t appear to have a power supply issue. Second, 0TR4 has 6v on the base and 0v on the emitter and is not conducting. Hence there is a good chance that 0TR4 is cooked. You measure

Hi I have compared the thicknesses of the cursor lines on both the BM3000 and BM4000. The green lines in the latter are around 0.7mm compared to 0.5mm orange lines in the former. I tried to photo the comparison but it is hard to do. Anyway, it seems that the wider cursor glass was accompanied by a thicker line. Regards Geoff

Hi Alex I have never worked on the BG4000 but recently overhauled the BG6000 which does appear to be fairly similar in many respects. Hi Paul Old eyes can be funny things and mine are no exception. However, in my experience, the lines on the BM3000 have always appeared to be more orange than red. Others may disagree. Anyway, in my case, I still have a full pen of orange permanent marker to use up!!! Pleased to hear that you have found a suitable solution to your problem. Regards Geoff

Hi If you look at the part closely, you will probably be able to see that there were originally three plastic prongs (posts) and the two outer ones have broken off. The cord goes through in an "over, under, over" arrangement, locking it firmly in position. I have had some units with broken prongs and an epoxy glue has managed to keep them
