I agree with Simon with the fact that (especially older) B&O equipment has a certain 'tone' to it. I do have an 80ies beomaster 5000 and a later beomaster 7000 and the difference is audible. The older 5000 has a somewhat more 'mellow' easier tone to it when used with the same speakers. As mentioned before by Tournedos, these units

The beolink active should always be connected to a beomaster somewhere. I think a beoport is what you're looking for. Gives you control over itunes and off course you can connect beolab speakers.

I hate the concept of 'cloud computing' as there are issues with privacy on all possible levels. We looked into it for our office environment but concluded against it as it was not secure enough. I still have records (and bought some more in the last couple of years) Love the artwork and the 'physical' having it. Also still buy cd's

It's true that after a while one gets more or less used to it. (having had a sharp lcd for over a year). However personally I found watching it tiring for my eyes somehow. I did change to a plasma (Panasonic) and that resolved all possible annoying effects. Been very happy with it. Even the best 240Hz lcd screen has a hard time keeping up with the

You'll find the setup manual online I think Though you'll need to be silver or gold member to download them. If you have any particular questions, I have a full 7000 setup

The AE has both digital and analogue exits. .... digital if fine if you pull the sound through DAC unit. (extra cost) The analogue sound from AE is basically not better than a cheap ipod ..if not worse (imo) .. I found the analogue sound very disappointing and not the quality I was looking for.
