I would find the BeoVision 8 price to be quite reasonable for a much more technologically up to date tv for the extra cost.

I have a US Avant in my bedroom and like it. However, I would certainly not buy an Avant in this day and age. The Avants were plagued with a fault in their component hi-def input that often caused a magenta hue in the video. Furthermore, the "high def" is only 480p. The lack of an HDMI port today would be a deal-breaker as well. The lack of

"The Sound of Music" just came out in 7.1 surround. "Logan's Run." The sound on BD is marvelously crisp. "Contact." Again, for the sound.

The app is nice. I would suggest adding the dates of posts. It helps to see if certain posts are still relevant according to the date.

I'm in the U.S., where we don't have scart. I would like to be able to connect a B&O DVD2 to a U.S. BeoSystem 3 via HDMI. The U.S. Beosystem 3 does not have scart connections. Is there such a thing as a scart adapter that would enable me to connect the mini-rca IR "control" cable from the BeoSystem 3 to the scart cable in order

What the app will do is just provide a single app with NetRadio and clock, all with a B&O logo. Then when you want NetRadio or clock when the

Will this new BeoPlayer app also control the BeoSound 5? It seems logical that such an app should appear since we already know that the new Beo6 will be able to have 2-way control over the BeoSound 5 via wifi.

This thread really should be pinned. It's more useful than many of the pinned threads.

As I recall, the earliest version of the Apple Remote PUC on the BeoSystem 1 had issues with the scrolling from holding down buttons. However, the current Apple Remote PUC on the BeoSystem 3 works quite well. The only time I have to use the actual Apple Remote is to activate subtitles on movies I've converted via Handbrake.

I'm quite uncomfortable with Trip's line of reasoning. If (when?) B&O adds Apple Lossless or gapless AAC playback to the BeoSound 5 and they try to charge me $1000 to "activate" such a feature, B&O will forever lose me as a customer.
