Hi Martin, I hope that I was not being totally redundant, however I was under the impression that the volume “pull back” was in response to my overloading the Beomaster 4500 with my Linn Isobaric and McIntosh ML-2 speakers. The Beomaster 2400, as mentioned a couple of time had NO problem powering those speakers plus a set of Fishers. It

In our former home, my Beomaster 4500 was pressed into service standing in for my McIntosh 2255 that was in for service at the factory. The sound was unbelievable; to the extent that I believe this amplifier produces the best sound quality of any amplifier I have ever owned. One drawback, when the volume was turned up with the 4500 powering several

Hi Martin and Peter, Do you happen to know if the motor for the Beocord 9000 is unique to the 9000 or was it an outsourced item. If it were supplied by an outside source, if you could give me the serial number and hopefully brand, I might be able to find a replacement through the source. If I do, I sure will let everyone know! Thanks. Martin, In regard

Hi Martin, Thanks for the information on the Beocord 9000 motor. In regard to the CDX player it performed flawlessly until we moved and I miscalculated the clearance necessary for the top to open. I have the unit on tacked glass top tables and the cord is too short to move the unit when in place. As such the door opened and couldn’t open fully

My Beocord 9000, with its noisy motor has now given up the ghost. The play head engages, but immediately releases, as there is no tape motion. As the motor is silent, I assume that it packed it in. Martin, I need a replacement motor and a new belt. Please send me a PM or email with the costs for these items. Also in an unrelated issue, I am having more

We have recently moved and of all our audio gear the only piece of equipment that seemed disturbed by the move was the Bang & Olufsen CDX player. The Beomasters 2400 and 4500 were happy as clams, as were the Beograms 4000, 4002, 4004, and 8002. Ditto the Beocords 8004 and 9000. However the CDX was decidedly unhappy. It refused to play a CD, merely

Sound quality and power levels are ultimately subjective. I have a Beomaster 2400 which happily powered up three sets of high-end inefficient speakers without showing the slightest hint of discomfort. Lovely sound quality and flawless performance, not giving away a hint of its age. I also have a Beomaster 4500 which has, in my opinion the most remarkable

I have a Beogram CDX and am completely delighted with it. However I see posts regarding the Beogram 4500, which looks similar but by all accounts is much superior to the CDX. Is this true? And if so, what is the ultimate Bang & Olufsen CD player? Jeff

Having qualified service close at hand is such a blessing! I live on Vancouver Island and there are absolutely no dependable high end stereo repair shops. Even with the 1 ½ hour (each way) ferry ride to Vancouver on the mainland the B&O repairer only answers his phone “when he feels like it.” The McIntosh repair facility actually

Ray, The Beogram 8002 is a marvelous piece, but be warned, they are getting old. I nearly purchased a nearly flawless local unit that had sat in a garage for 10 years. The chances that the capacitors would fail shortly after being pressed back into service are nearly 100%. I was outbid on that one and was fortunate in being the eBay high bidder on a
