I wonder whether the rising in prices is because maybe B&O wants to sell less of their products at a higher price because labour/manufacturing costs have risen so much that economy of scale won't make as much sense? So like just earn money off the rich cos they are not that much affected? Alexander

benjnz: I don't think we have much to worry about. A clear direction is always a good one, then again if they stuff up they can always blame the "Current Economic Climate" (hands up all those bored silly by that tired old phrase being an excuse to do anything stupid these days). I think a lot has happened, they were a bit slow off the

hmmmm... Beolab 8000s in white. One word eww!!! With white cloth grilles you can totally see what goes on underneath them and plus a white cloth grill with back base? What the..... IMHO of the whole range of Beolabs the 8000s are the least suitable candidate for white cloth grilles. In fact shiny aluminium finishes never go well with dull white. Well

OMG. Wouldn't it be cheaper then if we buy all the parts separately and assemble it ourselves? 80 pounds seems so unlikely though. Try asking again.

Haha.. Maybe you can have the dealer write as gifts. Better to get a franchised dealer if they still exist. Think they will be more accommodating. PS. The tax in UK is a lot higher than in SG so you still sorta even out. Meaning, you pay for the price that you get in UK despite shipping and tax.

petermc: I'm sure there are many ways of getting better sound out of my computer however I'm not really interested in going down the digital converter/Beoport/ USB attachment route due to the fact the computer has to be connected and left on. I have a laptop which I mainly use for internet, email, word processing and loading SD cards with music

Mr 10 percent, since when was I actually advocating the use of a computer as a sound source? In fact in my own system I bought an Olive for music purposes which also happens to be the same room as my mac. I was just simply saying that a computer can provide supreme sound quality when executed properly. BTW i am really looking forward to getting the

Puncher: wonderfulelectric: Erm... no the digital outputs straight from computer are littered with jitter (timing errors) so it's kinda a bad idea. This might be very stressful for the converters built in the Beolab 5s and thus losing lots of their splendid sound. Whole idea is to use an external USB activated re-clocking machine that communicates

To make any electronics today that will survive without change for a decade without constant updates will be wishful thinking. So I am stressing Modularity again all the way from loudspeakers to the sources and to the tvs. Something to consider also is that if panel technology is moving so fast, why don't consider making specialist video processors
