Tough choice. The Avant maybe has a built in surround decoder if thats a plus for you? The DVD quality on the Avant is outstanding. I had the same one in 32" and everyone who saw a DVD movie on it, complimented the picture quality. In my opinion the Avant is one of the best televisions in the world...EVER! I personally think the design is top knotch

Don't be worried - it CAN be fixed :) It could be two things: 1. The power supply has to be exchanged - not an expensive fix. 2. The cable is defect. Have you tried exchanging the cables/beoLab 4000's? Does the fault follow the cable or the speaker? I hope its the last - since this is the cheapest to fix.

Hi soundproof, There is nothing mentioned in the service manual about a reset option. But i am sure it can be done with the PC service tool. At least one can update the main SW and i gues that is as good as factory default. Your local dealer should have the service tool.

The first thing you have to have is an ESD secured workplace... In my world you are more than qualified but i guess you will have to talk to head of service in struer.

he he. I guess you will have to throw it out then... "Joke". I think the main concern is spare parts where you have to be ESD secured to change them. Like an STB chip in an Avant.
