Excellent. Many thanks both. David

Is it possible to work an Avant STB-C from rooms with MCL2A kits? I have non-linked TV's in these rooms. I also have an LX connected to an xtra TV kit (MCL2AV) in another room. I would connect my BC9500 to the Avant using a beolink converter. Will the MCL2A's only carry audio commands?

It certainly seems that way although the aerial company said that "second location picture format was working before but now it does not" indicates a recent change. They insist it was after a software upgrade. The situation is not satisfactory at all. For e.g another person wants to watch the same Sky channel in another room on a different

I read this on another forum. Is this having to use a remote eye only with recent software? Why would they do it this way? If the box can only output one format at any one time? According to my B&O dealer, aerial contractor and from TV link who make the magic eyes for Sky, the RF2 should output 4:3 when selected in the menu and is nothing to do

No one else heard of the picture format problem? Maybe not all boxes are affected?

Regarding second location picture format: There is a known problem with this. It seems Sky's latest software upgrade has stopped it working (although it is still there in the picture settings menu). Calls to Sky are answered by people who either know nothing about it or pretend not to. I contacted a local aerial contractor and they are very well

My BM6000 is no longer used as a main system as I now use MCL2 rather than MCL82. I really enjoyed the amp over 25 years of daily use and it still sounds superb. It would be useful to tweak the level on the inputs occasionally. As you say FM also varies so hopefully you have achieved a good compromise with lowering the output. Regards David

Both are in option 1 because they are unconnected. A-V.AUX or source>AV>source will mute the picture but only when the Avant is in option 2. This is not ideal because as you say volume/standby etc is not independent but it does work. If the Avant would respond to picture>mute (as the LX etc) or p.mute (BV7 etc) there would be no issue. Unusual

It's 1.3v against the CDX's 2! Would that explain the lack of warmth and bass in the sound? The CDX worked well with the BM6000 but the DVD1 actually sounds better than the acclaimed CD7000! I have yet to use a BM6500/7000 which would be better suited in all respects. On the 9500 CD and FM are the same but AUX and Tape2 obviously vary with sources

Hi Frederik, I seem to remember my getting the play/records mixed up! They are not easy to get at when everything is connected up. You are correct that FM does have a higher output level generally. This has always been the case with my 6000 since new but I also find the same with Beocenter 9500. Regards David
