You should check the video modes in VGA supported by the Sony. I suspect that the TV only supports 60Hz in through the VGA socket - while the BS2 outputs 576p at 50Hz. Hence the message. All is not lost though - you can get a £175 box which (from the specs) looks like it will sit in-line between the BS2 and the Sony. Here is the link: http://www

The UK one has integrated DTT - which is rather irrelevent to OZ as the UK use DVB-T but in multiplex mode while OZ's DVB-T is HD (If I remember correctly). The Slingbox connects to the IQ box - not the BV7 and there is a small IR wand that connects to the front of the box. You may find that as the IQ box is similar to the Sky+ box in the UK, it

The Playstation 3 does not use IR, so you'll have to get a converter for it - then get the BS3 to control it. With regard to connecting it up, you'll need the SP/DIF connector connected if you want 5.1/&.2 sound also.

The sat module has its uses... it can pick up French analog TV on Atlantic Bird. TF1, France 2, France 3 etc...

I really can't see the alarm raised - it is entirely normal for a company to license any technology they develop to third parties and it doesn't mean that they are being taken over. It is just good commercial sense in that a generic technology can have more outlets than just those used by the originating company.

Thanks, I have no problem with the option codes, just couldn't remember how MCL to ML systems stuck together (it has been some years....) Thanks for your help - one DIN cable is much easier. If I recall, the 2500 needed two because it didn't fully implement MCL.
-
Ah now that makes me remember - that's exactly what I had to do for the 2500. But as the 5500 doesn't have powerlink sockets - what happens then? Thanks for the tips. regards frog

Robert, Yes, that sounds like how I want to do it as I have a Beolink Converter. When I first used it with a 2500 system, I needed to connect up two DIN plugs - do I have to do the same here?
-
In the writeup about the 5500, it says that it supports MCL - and so I think I could use a MCL/ML converter box to link it to my ML system. I can't see a MCL plug on the back of it though - anyone know how to link it?

Thanks - it is the DVD-S97 (first one with HDMI). It worked OK with the DVD Controller. I just don't think it is necessary to have to use it now with the PUC. How do they update it exactly? Do they choose from a list on a menu or do they just put all the boxes they have in the ROM?
