• Re: What should I use for rear speakers? BL8000/6000?

BeoLab 6000 and 8000 both have all their drivers (including the tweeters) half-way up the cabinet, so they usually end up firing straight into the back of a sofa when used as rears (which makes them completely wasted)! BeoLab 3s wall mounted highish above the sofa and angled down a bit would be the best option sonically. You don't want them mounted
Because the CD uses copyrighted materials, I do not sell it, but I do hand it out for free to students and colleagues for the kind of study that Alex is interested in, as a matter of course (it falls under the "Fair Use Doctrine of the US Copyright Law). I'm not sure how to get a copy to you, Alex, but
DSD audio used on SACD's and PWM based (Class D) amplification actually create as many, if not more, problems as they solve. For equivalent word size and sample rate they is little, if any, discernable difference in quality between DSD and conventional PCM (CD technology). The overwhelming advantage of a Class D

  • Re: The Loudness Wars
I don't know much about the recording process, but it would be intresting if someone could explain: - What is the point of raising the volume in the first place? Is it that for a given volume on a system the sound will appear to be better if it is louder, or are there other benefits?
Not quite sure to be honest

  • Re: The buying experience ... a 7-32 vs 7-40
Why don't they use the same technology in the 32 version?? What could be the reason.
The BeoSystem 3 won't fit inside the BeoVision 7-32. It's enough of a squeeze inside the 7-40 as it is! Really, the BeoVision 7-32 should be based on the same chassis as the BeoVision 10 and 8-40.

  • Re: The buying experience ... a 7-32 vs 7-40

The mkIII BeoVision 7-40 onwards is a completely different television to the BeoVision 7-32 from a technical aspect. The mkI + mkII BeoVision 7-40s were essentially identical to the BeoVision 7-32, but with a 40" display instead. The picture processing etc... was all the same. Move upto the mkIII 7-40 and onwards, and you'll find a BeoSystem

  • Re: Flash your B&O!

I'm with soundproof on this. Are you sure Marc you haven't just been un-plugging the BeoLab 2, and not disabling it in the BeoSystem 3 menu? Sorry if it seems like an obvious suggestion! If the BeoSystem 3 still thinks it has a subwoofer connected to it when it doesn't, then it will be sending all the LFE content to a speaker that doesn't

  • Re: beolab 6002 +8002
I think it's a shame that after upgrading to compete 'digital' amplification there is no digital input like on BL5's. I'd say that (especially for B&O) class D amplification and digital music is the future, why not do away with DAC's and stuff and use the digital signal? B&O has a
