In 2008 Samsung manufactued the LA55A950 TV which, from what I can gather, was only available in certain markets. It used a locally dimmable panel. Shortly afterwards all Samsung LED backlit TV's used the edgelighting method instead, presumably cheaper to manufacture. I assume the BV7 is based around the earlier LA55A950 panel.

I'm sort of with Moxxey here - I don't give a Monkey's about what art directors, movie stars, rock stars, professional sportsfolk etc. desire/believe or aspire to. I'd prefer to see why "ordinary" folk fell in love with the brand - what inspired them, why they love it, what makes them pay more than they can reasonably afford

Any plan to broaden the appeal of the brand is good. I only hope this doesn't preclude readdressing the pricing structure of the existing products.

I still like the MCP concept. In these days of DLNA, Netradio, streaming music & films etc. it would be nice to control everything simply and graphically from one device. Being able to drag and drop music or video onto the device you wish to listen to or watch makes things as simple as can be, similarly searching or navigating content libraries
