No - the MCP5000 will NOT work with the Beomaster 3300 as they use different IR codes. What can you do? Get a beolink 1000 & now is definately the time to buy one. Recent ebay prices seem to suggest you can pick one up for around £20 at the moment. Chris.

Sorry to bang on & once again raise the issue of fake A8's being sold on ebay. Read the description on THIS listing & tell me it isn't misleading? They seem to think that by mentioning the fact that they are (quote) "lookie like" A8's on the last line of the description - hidden in their returns policy - that it makes this

I've also heard that the early ones were a bit Bass light but this was apparently remedied on the 2nd & subsequent generation BL8000's. I agree the 8000's are stunningly beautiful speakers - still wouldn't make me swap them for Penta's if I had to live with them for ever though. Chris.

You cannot connect Beolab 8000's to your Beomaster 5000 amp as it doesn't have powerlink outputs. Besides, the Penta's are better but this is just my opinion Chris.
The S55's will doubtless be rotten (I sold my last pair to Chris "medogsfat" for £40 or so)
And very nice they are too but I only bought them as they were cosmetically close to mint & to my mind worth the gamble, I don't expect to make too much profit on them though. I'm pretty much lost for (printable) words on THIS ONE It isn't even a B&O dealer one with the presentation box.

Hi Neil - yes you can. Chris.
The tops are pretty tired on all so i'm thinking a restoration project and possibly a chrome finish
I'm pretty certain that the 3500 panels are polished underneath the grey paint. I seem to recall a Beoworld member stripping the paint off with nitromorse paint stripper to obtain a match for the 4500

I wouldn't even dream of using Beolab 4's, they're only any good as PC speakers IMO. Beolab 2500's are easily going to be the neatest & cheapest solution which will fulfil your needs. I agree with Nigel though, you'll struggle to find any decent ones for less than £250 (minimum). As for Beolab 2000's - does the 2300
I'm deff bummed you didn't get to restore them Chris.
I can't say I'm actually crying into my beer over this but it would have made a pretty good resto-thread. There will be other I'm sure. Chris.
