I would replace all the electrolytic capacitors. As shown in your photos you have 3 in the vicinity of your overheating issue, one a 4,7uf us in circuit with the small IC you are pointing to with your pencil. It may not solve your problem but considering the age of the set 30+ years those caps are probably pretty much dried and spent by now.

I have a Beomaster 1600 user manual comlete with the fold out electrical diagrams. I have 3 (1is a donar) and the other two are ..... one of these days. Not much to it.

Nice work on the coils. Do you have the service maunal or at the very least the electrical diagram for your Beogram. That would ber helpful. The only other recomendation I would make would be to replace the remainder of the original electrolytic capacitors still in the deck.

There are other Afrikaner's here on Beoworld. Perhaps one of them will pick up on these threads and may be able to offer some assistance. Ben in particular comes to mind. You are not alone down there. I am on a break from the Beocrack for at least the remainder of this month and maybe next month as well. I am currently working on nothing.

Yes it was - that is where I got my BM 2000 there was also a BC 2600. Of the three the BC 1600 was the only set that actually worked and was in the best condition. The BM 2000 basicaslly fell apert when I opened her up to look inside and the BC 2600 is a wreck both inside and out. Only really good for parts.
Another load done. Still remaining are some component & spare part boxes and the kit that I use daily (MX6000, BS6500, Pentas, some odd pieces) and I'm already seriously questioning my sanity. Everybody should move once a year and there would be a lot more kit on the second hand market!
Then you can

Nice... here is my more recent and less exotic service tag on my Beocenter 1600 that is sitting partially rebuilt. How I came about it is a long story involving flight cases from Chicago. Obviously a well travelled set that still had the European style plug-in when I took possesion.

The cassette mechanism looks eerily similar to the ones used in the Beocenter 7000 and 7700. I am still finding belt goop in and around my work area - months later.

Just be cautious Mike and check completed listings. These are not selling terribly well at the moment. A CD50 fully working got for £27 recently too! I think better putting on as a BIN especially if you have a good rep.
Well, these aren't going to fleaBay as shipping
