I really think a deep breath is needed here. Anyone is welcome on Beoworld to ask as many questions as they like regardles of their member status or motive, whether they get a response or not is entirely in the hands of the membership. EVERYONE gets treated with total equality on this site unless they step out of line by posting inflamitory/intimidatory

solderon29: Spiders manage to get inside(somehow!)and their nests affect operation (arachnobeophobia?!) also. That word deserves an entry in the OED Nick. I wonder how much it would be worth at scrabble Chris.

Craig: P.S. Carol says if you feel that guilty you can always give her your Pentas to relieve the burden of outbidding me. No chance, I'm having 'em converted into a coffin for my final journey. Oh and BTW Simon & Craig, SWMBO doesn't know what I've bought yet - do either of you have a room going spare? Chris.

Sinclair Young the Basingstoke dealer are normally good for this type of stuff. You can find them on the dealer list on the main site. It seems the dealer you spoke to is just trying to flog you replacement remotes. BTW, welcome to Beoworld and thank you for supporting us with your GOLD membership. Best of luck in the next prize draw. Chris.

Soz mate That's the trouble with hidden auctions, if I'd seen you bidding I wouldn't have jumped in. Either way it's a bargain. Don't know what the condition is on these but if the 7700 is decent I've got a lovely place for it. Next to my PC I think and connect to the AUX input with the CX's on the wall. Chris.

Martin is Beoworld member Dillen and you will find him answering questions in the Beogram/workbench & vintage sections mostly. Chris.

timmer66: Thanks - that's what I was hoping for. Will the Beogram 5000 work as well? Yes it will. Other models which will work and give you remote control include:- Beogram 3000 (tangential model) 3300 , 5500 , 1800 , 2000 , 9000 (obviously) 8500 & 9500 (1980's models) - non of these have the inbuilt RIAA which is already fitted in the Beocenter

Here's how to do it Mike. 1. Put an old record (or one you hate!) on the platter and start playing. 2. When the stylus sets down UNPLUG the beogram from the mains, this will stop the tonearm in the play position. (Pressing stop will simply return the arm to the rest position which is not what you want here). 3. Turn the counterweight until the tonearm
