  • Re: Beocenter 7002 - Radio section - Sound quality

The trimmers can be bad, that wouldn't be too surprising. You can lift out the signal path capacitors C37 & C38 and put the scope on pins 4 and 5 of the stereo decoder IC (respectively) and see if the levels are even and clean. If the tuner is misaligned, I suggest you first check for lose ferrite cores etc., also inside the FM front end metal

  • Re: Beocord 8000 refurbishing

The constantly running motor fault, I've had two times recently, both on Beocord 8004's though but the circuits are quite identical. One was Jeff's if I remember correctly. It's a blown driver transistor on the controller board. I don't remember exactly, I think its TR9 (?), a BC547 or something like that. I have no idea why this

  • Re: MC40 cabinet in rosewood.

Welcome to Beoworld ! The value of these furniture pieces are really tough to estimate. When put up for sale, they seem to go for almost any price you can imagine, some as low as a few pounds others hundreds. The funny thing is that the costs don't seem to be related to the type. What a nice system ! Martin

  • Re: Delayed Relay Circuit (startup board, BM8000)

Sadly, I don't have a board but I'm sure that there must quite a few BM8000's out there that was given up for some reason, to donor a complete module. I suggest you put an ad up in the wanted section. Martin

  • Re: Delayed Relay Circuit (startup board, BM8000)

Well, I suppose the transformer is good and strong then. Replace all semiconductors on the board and on the cooling fin. Check (or replace) all other components, even ceramic caps. Do a continuity check on all PCB tracks. If the board has serious dark spots from heat, it may have turned conductive and must be discarded. When done, but before powering

Yes, it's like new years evening with the fireworks and sounds... Reminds you what a very powerful beast this is. Did you replace all semiconductors on the board ? Did you get a chance to monitor the idle current ? I never liked the multiturn trimmers, often you cannot tell if the setting is near the center or towards one end. Did you check yours

  • Re: Ingen bas i beovox penta

Du kan prøve at bytte printkort fra den ene Penta til den anden for at se om fejlen flytter med. Kit'ene har jeg. Martin

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 distortion.

Well, as always - capacitors first. You really cannot judge anything with the old capacitors still in there. A kit exists for this. Then the idle current and DC offset trimmers, they are very often found bad. Not just misadjusted but actually defective. Martin

  • Re: Ingen bas i beovox penta

  • Re: M100 bass driver

I agree with Chris on the centering - an important step that many pro refoam'ers skip (?!) - and the swapping. If that's the "Filler" driver, then the same driver is found in Beovox M75, if thats of any help. - And one more thing; Find a new refoam'er. Martin
