Jeff, If the radio board has a fault you will have to change PCB86 which is the FM/AM radio with RDS. There is not a single chip and it certainly cannot be upgraded to digital. The best way to fix this is find a Beo3200 which is being broken up for spares and use the module in it. Graham (joeyboygolf) may be able to help you as he gets quite a lot of

It could happen with some STB's and not others for many reasons, but one common one is all or part of the outer case is plastic rather than metal. From an electronics design engineers viewpoint it is one of the biggest headaches when designing a product.

Clearly you should try the double screened version offered by your dealer, but I would also suggest doing my previous suggestion of putting a wire between the aerial input screen by just wrapping a wire around the outside casing of the aerial plug and mains earth.
-
Tim, You are certainly not the only person to get interference problems with cables, even screened cables. The real problem in todays world when connecting different manufacturers products relates to standard of that product particularly where screening and earthing are concerned. The symptoms can be very different, but the causes are remarkable common

Yes, R65 & R66 are 150 K Ohm and are in p arallel to give an effective resistance of 75 K Ohm. The reason they have done this is because resistors come in standard values, so the nearest value would be 68K or 82K. These two resistors have a low tolerance requirements, so you should get at least 5% version. 5% resistors usually have a "gold"

Frank, D7 is also an IN4148, this is a high speed switching diode made by Philips R22 is a 680 ohm resistor

As you have fully screened SCART cables that's good, however if the cables are very close, then that screen can act as an aerial because it is signal ground and not "earth" ground. On way of proving this point is to get a piece of wire and connect one end to mains earth and connect the other end to the screen of the aerial plug which is

Toby, CLI means " Caller Line Indentification " to you and me means it shows the callers phone number if it is not withheld. CLI was/is available in the Mark I version but did not work everywhere. You can indeed use the "Conference Call" facility in the Mark II version. I would say that the Mark II provides a much better user experience
-
D5 & D6 are both IN4148 diodes Just taking the board to a parts shop will not help you.
-
Frank, You should not concern yourself about the different part numbers of the boards. As the capacitor C4 pop'ed it is likely that at least one or more of the following components will have failed:- TR6 (BC548B) -- D6 could be short circuit -- D5 -- TR5 -- Tests these components Also it should be noted that C4 is rated at 25 volts
