You will need a pre amp I'm afraid unless your BM6500 has had one fitted (very uncommon)!
-
Held on with double sided tape I believe. There is every chance that you will destroy the silver if you take them apart!

I read this listing and decided not to bid. There seemed to me to be too many things quoted which didn't make sense as you have highlighted in your post. Judging by the serial number quoted, this unit was built in 2001 and is not a "latest version" but may well be N-Music compatible if the S/W issue no is 2.0 I would not worry to much

You can view the specs of all the variants in the Products section of the Main Website!

wirralsimon: I think the price this went for isn't toofar off the mark. Quite glad I didn't see it at the time or I may have bought a system I didn't really need! Looks like it was a decent deal Simon At the price it was a steal. The beogram alone, if good cartridge and relatively unmarked would fetch £499!!!!

I think so. Should not take him long so not very expensive.

The mute relay may well click but if the contacts are dirty, you will get distorted sound. There is no real benefit from the DIN cables other than the displays.
-
The midrange drivers can be replaced but at a cost of £20-25 each. Much cheaper to refoam them but lots of hassle!!!
-
I suspect that the mute relay is faulty! This would explain the distortion with the speakerlink cables.
