Steve, If you are actually talking about the "mode" switch then the following should help:- Once connected to the mains supply, the Beolab Penta is in the stand-by mode. The stand-by mode is indicated by a red light on the front of the amplifier unit. The speaker switches on automatically when it receives a signal, unless, of course, the MODE

Philip, I would certainly get them to at least give you a quote on the repair.

Mac, A very warm welcome to Beoworld.. Based on your "Problem Statement" it is clear there is lack of line driver to the horizontal scan coils, but the vertical drive is good. Also, the fact you can see a vertical line means that the EHT (Extra High Tension) voltage from the LOPT (Line Output Transformer) to the tube anode is working fine

Toby, The Mark I does have CLI, but it does not work in all circumstances and does not detect an incoming call (call waiting) while you are on the phone and report who was calling after you have finished your current call. In my view the kit is cheap and you get everything except the coloured back cover, battery, microphone and earphone.

Ola, The kit is about £55 (80 Euros) and includes everything in the picture including the front panel.

James, You can use a higher voltage version, but it is also likely to be physically larger as well
