Chris is quite correct re unreliable doors. Could be any or all of his suggested reasons plus the primary drive to each door is provided by a rubber band!! These do go hard with age but can be replaced with new from your dealer. Ask him to order items for the 9300 as these are still on the spares database and are identical. I usually lube the door tracks

BeoSideOfLife: Crap! What differs between bl5000 and an mcp? Are there two versions of 2-way communication? I am afraid there is!!! Otherwise an MCP would work properly with a BC9500 and it does not!!!!

Not a botched repair as far as I am aware. I have seen several soldered spindle motor wires like yours. I think they used a cheaper spindle motor on this version of the CD mech. I remember that I had one of these with a problem with thrust washers on the motor worn and not allowing the motor to turn. I remember canibalising another motor but can't

When the signal level rises above a threshold the amp switches on. 10 minutes after the signal falls below a threshold the amp switches off. The answer to your next question is "I don't know" !!!!

Once you take the weight off of the bottom of the speaker the cone is held on with a circlip at the base of the threads. This will uncover the "works" but I must admit to never having taken much notice once the cone is off!
