Me too. Search for "C2103" and you'll find the info. If you aren't able to repair it yourself (do NOT offer it to a dealer!), I know at least two German members (Ulf and Die_Bogener) who can most probably fix it for you.

I wouldn't change the Beomaster, although some argue that 5000 is the best of the series (I certainly can't hear the difference between any of them). MCP5000 is an annoying remote in daily use and your Beolink 1000 won't work with Beomaster 5000. CD5500 is a lot more reliable than CD50 though, and probably better sounding as well.

Fix them up then Have to confess that I like the looks of the later dual fret series much more as well... but I still fear that the result of the transplant would not sound as good either if you have to do some kind of enclosure mods to accomodate the "wrong" drivers.

Correct, unfortunately. Without a suitable remote, the only way to reset loudness is to open up the Beomaster and temporarily remove the backup battery from inside the CPU module! You could of course consider getting yourself an MCP or an older Beolink 1000 (with reset button) from fleaBay or something, neither are very expensive. The MCPs aren't

It should work fine, but will be a bit louder than with a B&O cartridge. The user manual of BM8000 specifies the phono sensitivity as 0.18 mV - 0.4 mV / 47 kohm.
