It's a new one on me. I would usually suspect the leads but if they work with Penta II then they must be OK. Your start point for the diagnosis seems logical. The transformer in the two versions is the same according to the service manual. Only some jumpers are changed. Keep us informed.

I have not found a way to fix these yet!

Hi Mike, The switches on the back of the speakers should be set to either L or R and the switches on the side of the speakers should be set to Audio. Power off the whole system. Connect the wires and set the switches. Power on the 3500 and then the speakers. Select a source, say, CD on the 3500. They should now work as designed. If not, you have a problem

You're welcome Jeff. Good luck with the 9300, it's a wonderful bit of kit.
-
The 9300 has the following din input sockets under the flap and near the speaker sockets:- Aux Phono/Tape2 (combined!!) Note that the phono input does NOT include RIAA preamp so you will need either a deck with this facility built in or an external unit. Your BG8000 does NOT have built in RIAA.

You won't get one much cheaper than that! The cd player is the bit that's worth all the money. The beomaster and the tape........well you can hardly give them away!!
-
Well done Keith, I would never have thought of that one!
-
Do you still get sound using speakerlink?
-
Your output would appear to be muted. Just tried my 8500/lab5000's/powerlink setup and if you press mute on the remote the display matches yours! Suggest you play with the mute control.

The cables do not look to be correct. You need Mk2 fully wired powerlink cables for speakers with displays. No other powerlink cables will work. The switches on the back of the speakers should be set to either L or R and the switches on the side of the speakers should be set to Audio. Power off the whole system. Connect the wires and set the switches
