I think the back of the BV3 puts me off! It is a big set, even in 28" form. It is widescreen though. Of course the LX has a taller screen - in fact it is taller than the BV3 32" model. The last ones have good tubes and are easy to get serviced. If the MX6000 was too big, then the BV3 will certainly be worse. I would go for the BV/C1 with a

I use an LX6000 - the sound is excellent and one can control the extra sources such as Sky+ on the main room set. Not as tall as the MX, it offers a 28" screen and the ability to fit both active and passive speakers.

It is the muting relay. One or both channels can stick. It needs either taking apart and cleaning or replacing.

Which Beomaster 2000? There are two. There is the old one and the new one . Both will work with the RX type turntables but a similar looking one would be the Beogram 2000 which has the DIN plug and Datalink. You're safe - my 6000 remote was given away some time ago! Interestingly, the Beomaster 6000 quad remote works the Beomaster 2400, but again, not as expected!

The early 700s are lovely sounding radio but that is rather expensive - There are plenty of these around so I would wait! The 1000 is again a good radio though I don't think it actually sounds quite as good as the 700. I think the speaker may be smaller. I have a leather 1000 - very nice to play with.
