I have leased my 4400 to a friend, but I'm absolutely sure that one goes to 108 MHz. I bought it from Germany BTW. The different versions of the "same" models seem to bring no end of surprises though!

Oh yes, Beomaster 1000 (at least the black key export version) goes to 108 as well. So does Beolit 1000, but Beolit 707 ends at 104. Seems like the 104-108 range was omitted just in the early '70s. I don't quite buy that police radio theory, as already BM900 had the full range. BM4400 goes up to 108 as well!
