The MX4000 Type 7870 is European version except UK & Ireland which is 7872 The differenent type numbers for all B&O products normally reflect country or regional differences. For example the UK has different power plugs to most European countries, so that alone would require a different type number. Also in the case of Beovisions, in the UK

Pekka, A Type 8400 is a European version, but not UK, Ireland etc. It is a 32" Mark I and does NOT have a Real Flat screen. The type number by country for this version are as follows:- 8400 A-B-CH-D-DK-E-GR-N-NL-S-SF and any other country which uses PAL B/G 8401 B-CH-E-F 8402 Hong Kong 8403 UK plus other countries with UK style plug and PAL I

Its good to hear that the re-soldering of some of the joints on the power supply module appears to resolved the problem with not switching on. Going back to the stand issue, if you look at the block diagram below, there are three modules involved with controlling and driving the stand motor. Andy, No apologies required, you rightly corrected my "British English", it is a fact that more people these days actually speak and write "American" English, so I often feel I should use it when communicating with an English speaking person outside Europe to ensure my response is not mis-understood.

As you have South/South East facing windows you could purchase a portable unit like the one HERE and place it just inside the window on the floor. You will then be able to pick up all the BBC & ITV free to air channels

As a courtesy to our non "British" English speaking members, I used local spelling !! Our friends in places such as North America & Australia do use "Fluxuations" when discussing electrical disturbancies instead of "Fluctuations". Even in the Collins "British" English dictionary it does provide " FLUX

NO, you can scan for channels and pick up France's version of Freeview with the French channels. Look at the link I provided further down this thread.
