Well kinda, although you only get the .1 if you use a seperate subwoofer (which isn't needed unless your main speakers struggle with bass). What you're looking for is '5.1' with the centre channel mixed in. You could describe it as 4.1, but this would imply the original source material has a separately encoded 4.1 soundtrack

I reckon things are going more and more small-business based. Broadcasting via a current 'over the air' system is incredibly expensive, whilst internet radio stations can be run from a home connection although this isn't an option unless you have very high speed internet access (at least 8 meg upload, more depending on the number of listeners) although

Internet Radio is definitely the future, not DAB. IMO Internet Radio sounds better at 128k than DAB... When somebody brings out a decent 'net tuner for hifis which I can control with my BeoLink 1000, then I'll be getting one. At the moment, it's iTunes for me.

I often find that a lot of hifi systems seem to have 'too much' midrange. I mean sure, it sounds nice and 'open', but it doesn't sound very natural. As someone who plays multiple instruments daily, I've noticed that what audiophiles in fact think is a very natural sound, is actually a very midrange-biased sound. String ensembles seem to come out worst
