Welcome to Beoworld ! The Beovox S55 are fine speakers for their size. The woofers are 6 ohms so not easily replaced by modern types but I would almost always suggest refoam rather than replace anyways. Shouldn't be too costly and if the rest is like new, they will be worth it. I can help you if you are near Denmark. I would also suggest you grab

I am looking for a front panel baffle for Beovox Redline RL140. That's the plastic part that holds all speaker drivers, front cloth etc. It must be intact with no breaks, cloth condition or presence is not important. Martin

Paypal, as of recently, has become extremely risky for sellers; You sell something on Ebay, pack it extremely well and send it around the world. You need to remove three screws holding the tape drive section. You may also need to lift up the turntable section to undo the connectors and free the cables, they are sometimes too short to allow for flipping the tapedrive upside down. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! The laser may not be available anylonger but fortunately, it's very rare to see a defective laser. The majority of faults in these players are caused by dried out capacitors and they are indeed still available. So one of the repairshops you mention may be smarter than the other, sounding like one is able to actually repair
