Welcome to Beoworld ! The Beocenter 3500 is a lovely machine, built like a tank. A mouse may be able to enter the Beocenter somehow but how it can get to chew on the mains transformer is hard to understand since the transformer is cast into a very sturdy metal cabinet within the Beocenter. Probably the fuse for the lower voltage power supply. If so, check capacitors, especially C1 (3300uF), on module 16 (voltage regulator). Very often found shorted. Martin

What are the symptoms ? If one channel is missing, try mounting the cartridge upside down. Press play, touch the needle tip gently with a finger and listen. If sound is now missing in the other channel, the cartridge is bad. If sound is still missing in the same channel, the cause is not the cartridge but more likely a broken solder joint inside the
