The 4600 was surprisingly good. The radio tuner was the 1500 which is in may ways a shrunk down 4400 and the record player was the 1900 type of deck which is a good performer. They sell for next to nothing - as you found ! - if it came with a cartridge, you got a bargain! Could well be one to learn how to service as you will not lose much! The only
Beomaster 8000, nothing says B&O more. Quessential B&O product.
I do understand why people like the 8000 system, but I think it is not typical B&O for a number of reasons. 1. The heat sink at the back is so separate and looks like an afterthought - it doesn't add to the design. I would have

I understand the 7-55 will be launched in the EU next month. Should be excellent with a new type of screen....

Fair estimates though 8000s are getting cheaper in my experience. The only thing I would add is the Beogram 4500 has a built in RIAA so will not work with a BC9500. You need somethng like a BG3000 or a 9500. These decks are all based on the same design and the 3000 is usually the cheapest of the non RIAA units. Exactly the same performance.

Is the DIN plug of a higher quality than regular RCA plugs that's found on the RX? Yes and the use of Datalink would be brilliant. Thanks so much for your response, I'll

But you can put V.Aux as first in the LIST. That is how we use the AV9000 and Sky. B&O clearly think there will not be much demand for this, especially as you can remap the TV button with the new sets.

I suppose one could use a CDX with the 8000 system but its size and complexity and getting a room big enough to have MS150s in does limit some people. The collectors' choice would be the Beolab 5000 system which has plenty of connections and is just very musical to listen to. However I stick to my initial thoughts that if it is planned to use this

I think you really need to decide what it is you want the system to do. I have a couple of excellent classic systems but they do what they were designed to do - which is mainly pay the radio and LPs. If you want them to play MP3s and CDs, this is not as easy. The 1900 has relatively few connections and I would say is not ideal for this scenario. I would

Two points - you can get an HDMI expander and there is a built in DVB-HD tuner which reduces the need for one connection. Also remember this is a wall mounted TV in many cases and you would want as few wires going to it as possible. Steve is working on this I believe!
