Well I did a search... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Lossless It looks like other open source projects implement Apple Lossless, but it also says it is not documented by Apple. P.

I am not aware that Apple has licensed Apple Lossless yet... so it probably has no price. As for a lock in, well, because you can convert your songs from it to any other format without any loss, it does not lock you into it. I will do a search if Apple licenses it. p.

It is not Apple Lossless that we want, but any at least a lossless format! It does not reduce quality - at all - form the original and takes half the space on the hard drive. The thing about Apple Lossless is that it is available in iTunes, which has become the predominant tool for managing our music library. p.

I am sure that these are not real photos, but made up using bits of the movie we had at Xmas for the base, plus pure photoshop images, for the screen. That said, I am also sure it is a good enough representation of the beast. p.

timhanna: What else could they do? What would be the killer offer, without presumably reducing the price? I have read on another thread, that they are doing an offer on TV (1000 Euro if you bring your old CRT), and another offer on speaker (800 Euro if you bring an old Beolab). Not sure this offer are true, as I have not seen them on the official web

rmclachlan: 5 year warranty. Not really much of an offer... Costs B&O next to nothing and I really doubt whether it will drive sales that much. Would perhaps convince some already committed to buy now but unlikely to convert new prospects. Too intangible.. Wouldn't drive me to buy now I am afraid. It is not a measure that will trigger a sale
