mr_anders_son: I heard 5800€ I was told over £4000 in the UK, which sounds about right if you convert the EUR down to pounds sterling. It's going to have to be a rather compelling device for me to justify a £4000+ purchase to play back compressed audio. I'm going to pay a visit to my dealer soon to see if I can find out more

I'm not sure how effective BeoCare are, exactly. I don't know who is responding to the incoming emails. I had major issues with my BV8 installation which went on for nearly 4 weeks - I received one reply from BeoCare and nothing since. It was only due to my local dealers perseverance that we got it sorted in the end. I don't know how B&O's

jk1002: First I am think "here we go again". Too tempted to ignore and not to chime in. Again. I don't think the BVs namely the 4 and 9 range are for people who care about money. Disagree. People who have this money aren't stupid. They understand about 'investments'. My landlords are classic examples. They now own 10 properties
-
Stars: ..but I believe it would be a good investment for the future. How on earth can it be classed as an investment? An investment, by nature, is a commodity that generally rises in value or you believe the risk taken will result in a possible rise - thus you'd make money from your investment. Think fine wine, gold and so on. Also, by definition

Weebyx: So i was wondering if we could help B&O out.. /Weebyx I'll help them out if the bother to ask me to offer some assistance instead of responding with either 'no-one else has the problem...' or 'we're still looking in to it'. If I sold my BV7-40, BL9's, 7.4 and BL2, I could buy a Kuro and have a lot of spare cash

Grrr! My BV7-40 is turning off more than ever recently. Had a few friends around last night watching the England match...TV switches off (and it feels like ages - embarrassing, too). Again this morning. Ridiculous. Weebyx - we ought to be moving away from B&O and not considering 'supporting' them further by upgrading to a more expensive
-
Weebyx: What puzzles me is that Peter Pans BV7-40 MKIII, who has had the SW 4.24 upgrade, isn't showing any build version, my tv i showing build 344 and H8 as 4.17, DVE FEP SW as 4.17 and PW SW as 4.17, mind you that i have had mine downgraded from 4.24, but what puzzles me is that the PW SW isn't showing the same SW version as the DVE FEP SW

Jez: You would just use the PS3 for DVD's. Of course you can. However, what I was trying to imply was that if you wanted a B&O DVD player for your setup, you have to spend thousands more. 355f - I disagree with you slightly. Although you're right that upscaled SD-DVDs are very good these days, the colours you get in a Blu-ray are much enhanced
-
Alex: the BV4 + BS3 combo really is streets ahead in terms of picture and sound... True, no-one is denying that. However, realistically you need BV4-50, BS3, BL10 to make this combo happen. With the recent price increases, this is approx £13K in the UK. That's £13K for a plasma and mono centre speaker. However 'streets ahead'
-
BTW, I used to think the colours on the BV4-50 were better than the BV7-40, but my dealer has the BV9, BV4 and BV7-40 MKIII next to each other and we were watching a few HD pictures the other day. Both my dealer and myself decided that the BV7-40 was actually more 'natural' looking. Colours are better. The plasma showed reds more intensely.
